Tami was staying in the guest bedroom and went to the closet to put her clothes away. As she opened the door, she gasp!  The entire closet was filled, literally overflowing with books.  It contained my entire library of books by Caroline Myss, Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Rumi, David Deida and the like.

“Why are all these amazing books in the closet, Mande?” Tami asked.

“My husband doesn’t want me to have them out where anyone can see them. So I have to hide them in here.  He doesn’t want anyone to know that I need these self-help type of books.” I replied with a heap of shame and guilt.

Tami had such compassion for me and with such grace and humor offered me the opportunity to step fully into my power and acknowledge for myself and with him that all of this made me who I was. That all of my struggles and ‘imperfections’ and especially my FEELINGS were part of a normal human experience.  I didn’t have to hide any of myself, like my books in my closet. That weekend was very transformational for me and started some very significant changes to unfold in my life.

Changes that allowed me to more fully integrate all the parts of who I am.

I have to admit I was afraid to start “putting it all out there”. Afraid that people would reject me. People who I had cared what they thought about me. But I held on to one important truth.  Those who couldn’t love me for ALL of me didn’t really love me.  And those who loved me no matter what were really SO much more fun to hang out with.

Today I share with you this story because I just got off the phone with a client who complimented me for how “authentic” and “transparent”. She said she had been afraid to really embrace social media (have have it be successful) because she would have to embrace the parts of herself that others said she couldn’t show.  She shared with me that because I showed her a new way to be authentic that it felt like I gave her permission to fully integrate all the parts of herself that made her who she was – which just happened to be – spiritual and a redneck!

Just as Tami did with me last year, today I was able to serve my client in the same way and I wanted to offer that opportunity to you my loyal reader.

P.S.  Just in case I’m still being a little vague.  I’m full on Woo! Woo! and proud of it!   BTW- that means spiritual and loving it!

Well my argument for that is simple.

The ‘Magic’ of whatever product or service you’ve bought into is in YOU!

And to help illustrate that point I’ve come up with a powerful acronym I used with my clients to help them remember just what the magic entails.

Magnetic

When you are being who you truly are, you are magnetic to your ideal clients, partners and to publicity opportunities.  That magnetism is activated in you when you stop playing small and step into the brilliance of you – the light of the world that’s ready to shine and empower others to do the same for themselves.

Unfortunately the opposite also holds true so when you’re hiding and making decisions from your limiting beliefs and perceptions of reality you attract those same sorts of people.  Either magnetic pull is hard to unhook from sometimes but it is possible to choose the magnetic attraction that allows you to create opportunities from a place of unlimited possibility – and in that tiny space is exactly where the magic happens.

Authentic

When you are being who you truly are, you are authentic. There are no pretenses or actions you take just to please others or because you are supposed to be doing them – especially in the case of marketing & sales and doing activities because someone else made money doing it-might not work for you.

You’ve got to find out how to be authentic in all the ways you communicate about who you are and what you are up to.  An authentic expression of you comes from truly knowing who you are, what you value and being able to stand up for what you believe in.

Guided

Whether you refer to it as God, Spirit or the Divine – the magic happens when you listen and act on the inspiration you are guided with.

Often times it’s hard because we are guided to do things we’re not comfortable with but from my own experience and from sharing what amazing things others have been up to-the magic always happens when they take that leap of faith and act on that guidance.

Instrumental

This is one of my favorites because just the sound of the word to me feels a little more grounded and sturdy than the others.  This one comes from understanding your purpose and seeing the bigger picture of what you are here to experience and create during your lifetime.  Once you understand that you are instrumental in everyone’s life you come in contact with and they for you – you’ll be able to see the magic and create just the opportunities you need to continue to serve in much larger ways.

Confident

This is another of my favorites.  The magic is activated in you when you are confident. Confident in your actions, confident in the transformation you provide for others and confident you can take care of yourself and empower others to do the same.
