No matter where I go and speak about getting more clients using social media, it never fails that 80+% of the audience hates or doesn’t understand how to use Twitter for their coaching, consulting or solopreneur business. Considering a have a wonderful client success story of how Anne made $35,000 from Twitter while outsourcing 90% of the work, I would think more people would be interested in finding out how to do that for themselves! (if you want to check out Twitter Training for Coaches, Consultants and Advisors here)
To get you started quickly here are a few quick tips.
The first thing to master is using the Twitter search feature. It is a very effective tool that allows you to check on yourself and your business. You will be surprised to find out how much chatter takes place on Twitter.
By using the search tool you can quickly find out what others are saying about you and your business and learn from them.
Start by thinking of the words or phrases someone might be tweeting about that are part of the conversation on Twitter you want to participate in.
Next if you can add details to your search like the other people who might be talking about this topic (think broad like Oprah) and the geographic location that someone might be talking about it. The places feature is awesome for local businesses who are looking for someone say a 5 mile radius from their business.
Take all this information you find and use to to build a list of people you want to follow and join the conversation. Good luck. Feel free to leave me a question or comment below.
