Back in February 2012 I had the privilege of attending a keynote presentation where Barbara Corcoran spoke. She was so entertaining and inspiring that I had to pick up a copy of her book “Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business”.
If you’re a fan of the show Shark Tank and enjoy her quick wit and keen advice, I’d highly recommend you pick up the book.
Note: As a marketing lesson, take a look at the fact that the book was previously published as “Use What You’ve Got” and “If You Don’t Have Big Breasts, Put Ribbons on Your Pigtails”. Never be afraid of re-purposing content and leveraging your most useful asset at the time!
The biggest take away I can say I got from Barbara’s talk and book is summed up in her foreword: Believe in Yourself and Have Fun! I think she’s a perfect example of a Redefined SuperWoman and I love the crazy anecdotes she shares in the book.
This book is a great read for those days when you can’t believe THIS is your life because everything that could go wrong is going wrong and you’re wondering how to make lemonade out of all those rotting lemons!
